Activity 12/9/2020 (Learning outcome 2)

One activity that I have been doing a little bit of lately is boxing. Not only does it help with technique and strength and a little bit of self defense, but it is also great cardio. It took a lot more work than I expected to develop the correct technique, but while I was doing it I kept getting nervous. It is a little frightning to be punching, at times as hard as you can, with someone standing well within the range of getting punched. Through this class I have been able to learn a lot of new skills. There is lots of technique that goes into each punch and each respective step. It can be difficult to keep all the combinations straight and takes lots of practice. It also takes a lot of cardio work. There are large amounts of excersizing involved to give you the proper strength to be successful in boxing. Although I am not competing or anything, I still think these are useful skills to have. One of the biggest challenges for me is getting over the fear of accidently hitting the instructor. Although I know they are trained well, and it probably happens I would still feel very bad if that were to happen.

This has been a part of learning outcome 2, because I have gained so many skills during this process, but also encountered several challenges. It can be difficult to be in good enough shape to continue having all the strength you need behind every combination, it also takes time, focus and energy to develope the right technique to make sure you do everything properly. Without the right technique you can hurt yourself or someone else it is important to take the time to focuse and learn everything properly, even if it gets challenging at times.
