Activity - 3/25/2021 (Learning Outcome 1)
As the weather has warmed up, it has begun to be the perfect temperature for swimming. Swimming is a pretty critical part of my triathlon training, so I always happy to do it, but it is much more pleasant in warm weather. After a several month winter hiatus of not being in the pool, or really doing any sort of swimming, it was good to be back this week. The water was the perfect temperature and I was able to train in a way that has less of a physical impact, but is still great excercise. This swimming is particularly important because I have an upcoming Splash and Dash. Next weekend I will be swimming 650 meters, then running two miles. Getting back into swim shape is important, because that is a long distance to go, and I will be much less exhausted for the run if I am somewhat prepared.
Because I am only able to swim two times a week, that is not a huge amount of time for me to get back in swim shape. Regardless of this I am prepared to work hard in my practice. I love swimming because there is some amount of freedom to what you can do, and you really have to push yourself if you want to make it difficult. This has fallen under learning outcome 1. There are days when I really don't want to go to swim practice, but once I am there I'm so happy I went. Having this negative mindset cna make me feel more tired and it has been a goal of mine to start finding more positives and looking forward to it. By challenging myself to do this I think I have better results and am able to get a more positive outlook on other areas of life as well.
